How OpenSora 2 handles account, billing, uploaded assets, prompts, and AI generation data.

Last updated: 2026-07-07

Introduction

OpenSora 2 provides a hosted AI generation workspace for text-to-video, image-to-video, video-to-video, and image workflows. Open-source AI models and hosted generation are different things: open-source resources may be available separately, while this hosted service processes accounts, credits, uploads, and generation jobs on our infrastructure and provider network.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit the site, create an account, buy credits or plans, upload reference assets, submit prompts, generate outputs, or contact support.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the service:

  1. Account information - Name, email address, authentication status, account identifiers, and support context.
  2. Generation data - Prompts, model choices, generation settings, uploaded reference images, videos, audio, output metadata, task status, credit usage, and download records.
  3. Uploaded assets and outputs - Files you upload for reference or editing, generated images or videos, and related storage metadata.
  4. Billing data - Product, plan, order status, credit grants, credit consumption, subscription state, and payment processor identifiers. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  5. Usage and device data - Pages viewed, buttons clicked, feature usage, browser, device type, IP-derived security signals, and diagnostic logs.
  6. Cookies and local storage - Session, preference, referral, fraud-prevention, and analytics data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the service.
  • Authenticate users and protect accounts from abuse.
  • Process AI generation jobs, uploaded assets, credit balances, task history, and downloads.
  • Process transactions, subscriptions, invoices, payment callbacks, and related confirmations.
  • Apply free-user limits, watermarks, private visibility settings, queue priority, and paid entitlements.
  • Respond to support, billing, refund, and safety requests.
  • Detect fraud, spam, account abuse, policy violations, security incidents, and service misuse.
  • Analyze product usage so we can improve reliability, performance, and conversion flows.

AI Providers, Storage, and Processors

To run hosted generation, we may send prompts, uploaded reference assets, generation settings, and related task metadata to infrastructure providers, storage providers, email providers, analytics providers, payment processors, and AI model providers. They process this data only as needed to deliver, secure, or improve the service under their own terms and data-processing obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not intentionally use your private uploaded assets or private prompts for unrelated advertising. Public generations may be visible to other users if you use the service without a paid private entitlement or if you choose public visibility.

Public and Private Generations

Free generations may be public and may include a branded watermark. Paid users may receive private generation controls and watermark-free downloads where the workflow supports them. If a result is public, the generated output and limited metadata may be displayed or used to operate the gallery or product experience. Do not upload sensitive, confidential, or regulated assets unless you are comfortable with the applicable workflow and account settings.

Payments

Payments are handled by third-party payment processors such as Stripe, PayPal, Creem, Alipay, or WeChat Pay when enabled. We receive payment status, order identifiers, subscription metadata, and limited billing information needed to grant credits, manage subscriptions, handle disputes, and provide support. We do not store full card numbers.

Cookies and Analytics

We may use essential cookies for authentication, security, locale, and session management. We may also use analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Plausible, or Microsoft Clarity when configured to understand aggregate behavior and improve the product. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may prevent account and checkout features from working.

Data Retention

We keep account, billing, credit, and task records for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms. Uploaded assets and generated outputs may be retained in storage so you can access your creation history, unless deleted through available account tools or support requests.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, operational monitoring, and secret-management practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and AI generation depends on multiple infrastructure and model providers, but we work to reduce risk and respond to incidents.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information, object to certain processing, or request restrictions. You can use account settings where available or contact support. We may need to verify your account before acting on a request.

Children

The service is not intended for children under 13 or for users who cannot legally agree to these terms in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

International Processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including locations where our infrastructure, payment, analytics, storage, and AI providers operate. By using the service, you understand that data may be transferred and processed internationally.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, sending a notice through the service.
